Welcome to the 2018 Seattle Outdoor Cinema formerly the Fremont Outdoor Cinema now hosted in beautiful downtown Seattle at the South Lake Union Discovery Center celebrating it's 25th year in operation and good old fashioned weird summer fun on a massive grass lawn.

Great question! That's the first step and it's easy to find and conveniently located on most bus routes or offers ample free street parking in South Lake Union Please remember this is a "walk-in" theater, not a drive-in, so no cars in the parking lot. Bring your own chairs or blankets. Outside food welcome, but no outside alcohol.
WHAT TIME DOES THE THEATER OPEN?
Our gates open at 6pm most nights for outdoor happy hour specials and the perfect reason to hang out on our massive grass lawn in South Lake Union. Get there early, throw your urban campsite and enjoy an adult beverage with some lawn games.
WHAT TIME DO THE MOVIES
ACTUALLY START?
Depending on the time of the season, it varies. For instance, the longest day of the year is June 16th (Summer Solstice) so our July screenings won't start until about 9:30pm. Every week, our movies generally start about 10 minutes earlier than the previous week with August screenings starting as early as 8:30pm.
Friendly Disclaimer: Best seats go by 8pm, so get there early to claim your campsite and then feel free to head out and grab a drink or a bite in the neighborhood until the movie starts.
WHAT TO BRING
We want to let you know that our movie theater isn't on a grassy hill, its actually a big parking lot.
We recommend you bring some comfy gear that our patrons make themselves comfortable and to stay warm!
Recommended: Pillows, Bean bags, blankets, low chairs, inflatables, couches and yes, of course don't forget your best friends and family members.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
We do our best to screen every movie, but we also have to make some tough calls every now and then.
We always will announce our cancellations by 6:30pm online and through Social Media. Due to the unforeseen costs of producing an event, we can not refund tickets on the day.
CAN I BRING FOOD & ALCOHOL?
Yes. However, we recommend that you leave the cooking to us and our fabulous food trucks every evening. Unfortunately, alcohol is not permitted on the premise, but we do offer local craft beers, wine and spirits at our urban beer beer garden.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
